Winter is coming. Seriously. It’s starting to get cold, and you are considering the importance of layering your clothes to keep warm. As part of our regular roundup of high quality free sewing patterns and sewing tutorials, I’ve sourced some perfect patterns to make for winter.
Do you remember when we interviewed Betsy from Skinny Bitch Curvy Chick Patterns on QuickNeed? Did you know that Betsy has produced a couple of high quality free sewing patterns? One of her free sewing patterns is the Tonic 2, a long-sleeved tee-shirt.
Another free long-sleeved tee-shirt sewing pattern is from Deer and Doe: the Plantain T-Shirt.
This tee is very similar to Betsy’s, with the exception that they include (optional) elbow patches.
The next awesome tee-shirt that I found is by Fancy Tiger Crafts. Boasting as the one-hour sew One Hour Top PDF Pattern is a completely free sewing pattern.
This top has a much looser fit than the previous patterns. As you can see its a slightly dolman, 3/4 sleeved cropped shirt. Hint: make this shirt in a light weight breathable material and it would be great for summer.
Finally we have the Hemlock Tee from Grainline Studios.
This is another great layering shirt that is suitable for both light and heavier fabrics. As you can see in the image below Jen has sewn it with a lighter fabric so that a full layering effect can be used (great for both winter and summer).
